Yes, you CAN add rice vinegar and get all fancy. But first, get the basics right – it’s easy! Just follow these simple instructions and your rice will be sticky and perfectly cooked.
1.5 cups short grain rice
2 cups water
pinch of salt
Rinse rice very well, to remove as much of the “talc” as possible. Place rice, water and salt in a pot and turn up to highest heat. When boiling, turn down to lowest heat. Cover and leave for exactly 10 minutes. Do not peek – this will reduce the precious steam the rice needs.
